Edward J. Lehner
President and Chief Executive Officer
Edward J. Lehner is president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Ryerson, a global metals supplier and processor with operations in the United States, Canada, Mexico and China. Eddie began serving as Ryerson’s CEO in June 2015 after having served as Ryerson’s executive vice president and chief financial officer since 2012.
Prior to joining Ryerson, Eddie served as the chief financial officer of PSC Metals, Inc., a diversified metals company, and before that, as the chief financial officer of SeverCorr, LLC., a primary steel manufacturing company headquartered in the southern United States.
Eddie’s career also includes senior general management, operational, financial, accounting, tax and consulting roles for Nucor, Birmingham Steel, Inc., Laurel Steel and Deloitte & Touche.
Eddie has served on the Board of Directors of Modumetal Inc., and The Mississippi State Workforce Investment Board, and he is a member of the Association of Corporate Growth (ACG), The Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and Financial Executives International (FEI).
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati and is also a Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.)
Chief Financial Officer
Erich S. Schnaufer brings nearly 30 years of financial and accounting experience to his role as Ryerson’s chief financial officer. Prior to joining Ryerson, Erich held senior management roles at several publicly held companies including Alternative Resources Corporation and Midway Games. He began his career with Arthur Andersen in their Chicago audit practice and is also a certified public accountant (CPA).
Erich received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his Master of Business Administration degree from DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.
President, North-West Region
Mike Burbach serves as president of Ryerson’s North-West region, which includes locations throughout the United States and Canada.
Mike started his metals career at Vincent Metals in 1984 as an inside sales representative in Minneapolis. After advancing through a variety of procurement, sales and product management roles, he was named general manager of the company’s Green Bay location in 1992. In 1996, he moved to Indianapolis as general manager and then in 1999, assumed responsibility for the Vincent Metal Goods North region. In 2001, he was named regional vice president of Integris Metals North, adding the Pacific region in 2004. In 2005, he became the vice president and general manager of Ryerson Minneapolis and assumed vice president responsibility for the Pacific division a year later. Mike was promoted to president of the Midwest region in 2008.
Mike received his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Wisconsin.
President, South-East Region
Kevin Richardson serves as president of Ryerson’s South-East region, which includes locations throughout the United States. He also has management responsibility for the Sunbelt/Turret companies and Acofran in Brazil.
Kevin started his metals career at Ryerson in 1985 as an inside sales representative in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He then moved to Youngstown and Cleveland where he held a series of commercial and sales management roles before being named the general manager of Ryerson Charlotte in 1995. In 2000, Kevin was named the vice president of the company’s Carolinas division, later assuming responsibility for Ryerson’s locations throughout the northeast and Florida. He was named to his current position as the president of the South-East region in October 2007.
Kevin received a bachelor's degree in business management and economics from North Carolina State University and a master’s degree in business administration from Case Western Reserve University.
Executive Vice President-Operations and Chief Executive Officer, Asia
Leong Fang joined Ryerson in 2013 as chief executive officer for the company’s Asia region. He is responsible for leading the company’s operations in China, as well as optimizing operations and supply chain performance companywide through adoption of best practices in technology and analytics.
Leong brings 30 years of industry experience to Ryerson. Prior to joining Ryerson, he held a variety of leadership positions within The Timken Company, including leading its global aerospace and industrial machinery businesses, and was president of the company’s China division for approximately six years where he oversaw approximately 4,000 employees in multiple locations and led the company’s rapid growth into the wind energy, rail and heavy industry markets in China.
Leong has a Bachelor of Science honors degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Glasgow, U.K., and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and applied machinery from the University of Rhode Island. In 2011, he received Modern Metalworking Magazine’s “People of the Year” award. He also serves as an active board member with the U.S.-China Energy Cooperation Program and Junior Achievement China.
Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Mark Silver is executive vice president, general counsel and secretary for Ryerson, where he is responsible for managing the company’s legal, risk management and real estate functions.
Mark brings more than 20 years of legal experience to Ryerson, including 12 years at Sara Lee Corporation where he held multiple positions such as vice president and assistant general counsel, vice president of corporate development, as well as chief counsel, mergers and acquisitions. Previously, Mark served as a corporate attorney at the Chicago and London offices of Kirkland & Ellis.
Mark received his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Illinois and Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School.
